The last few days has seen me keeping an eye on the Dippers and also making a couple of trips to Burton Mere Wetlands.
On Thursday and Saturday, I went to see how the Dippers were getting on. They are now nest building and on occasion the male continues to sing to the female. All images taken with R5 and 400mm f/4 DO and 1.4x MkIII Extender.
Friday and Sunday were spent at the RSPB's Burton Mere Wetlands. On Friday a good variety of waders were present on the Cententary Pool along with a few Shoveler. Numbers of waders were much lower on Sunday, but a showy Little Grebe and Little Egret, along with a close Black-tailed Godwit, made up for the lack of waders. On both visits Common Toads were seen making their way in tandem to their breeding ponds. The Three-cornered Leek was also in flower.
